If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for
the one who does not love his brother whom he has seen, cannot love God
whom he has not seen. And this commandment we have from Him, that the
one who loves God should love his brother also. 1 John 4:20-21 NASB
Ironically, 1 John 4 starts with this verse: "Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world."
Often when we are searching for false prophets or wrong notions about God, we harbor ill will toward our fellow man. We hold onto the desire to defend God, and forget the second commandment in the process. Loving our brother is not always about proving them false. Sometimes it is giving them the benefit of the doubt. Women know they are highly intellectual and intuitive, sometimes we need to forgive our brothers when they act like false prophets.
