namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not
counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the
word of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as
though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of
Christ, be reconciled to God. 2 Corinthians 5:19-20 NASB
There is our hope, my friends. We offer the world plenty as American citizens, but as ambassadors of Christ, we offer them abundantly more. An escape from darkness, eternal fire, and separation from God.
God's priority is that men will be saved. Jesus reconciles us to what? The father. He reminds us that we long for relationship with our Creator. I beg everyone to be reconciled to God, whatever that looks like for you.
Most people understand the bond between a biological father and daughter/son. That bond is strong, and not easily broken. Imagine the glory of our heavenly Father and His desire to fellowship with us.
