Redeemed

Last month, I despised some of the trials given to me. These trials made me feel unlovable. These trials left me desitutue. I am no longer requiring explanations for past events. Job speaks these words: “God asked, ‘Who is this that obscures my plans without knowledge?’ Surely I (Job) spoke of things I did not understand, things too wonderful for me to know.”
Sometimes life is brutal, and we can’t rationalize why tragedy strikes. In the midst of my ordeal, I have found solace in one word: redeemer. As I read the love story of Ruth and Boaz, I am reminded that Ruth had very little to offer her future husband. She was living a tragedy. One man avoided the burden Ruth would place on him, completely rejecting her. However, Boaz joyfully rescued her from destitution and became her redeemer.
God redeems me. This ancient truth is newly moving and swirling in my spirit. I pray this astonishment will be imparted to my readers. When you need a refuge from rejection and poverty, run to your Redeemer.
