You Have the Right to Remain Silent

"FOR ZION'S sake will I [Isaiah] not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest until her imputed righteousness and vindication go forth as brightness, and her salvation radiates as does a burning torch."

Many Christian use this verse to force God's hand through prayer. "God, we won't stop praying until Jerusalem is a praise in all the earth!" After these ferocious prayer meetings, many leave disheartened because God is silent. They didn't hear God speak, they didn't feel his presence, and they didn't receive an answer. They assume they failed or that God just doesn't care.

However, what if God is silent because Zion's sake is upheld in the earth. When we praise YAHWEH, He has no need to respond because His name has been glorified in our praise. He can be silent and He can rest.
