I have a particular verse that rattles my sanity and stability.
"An ox knows its owner, and a donkey its master's manger, but Israel does not know, my people do not understand" Isaiah 1:3 (New American Standard Bible).
You can't avoid the relativism debate, if you hope to be a successful evangelist. Everyone, secular or religious, will attempt to use the Bible to promote their ministry, enhance their opinion, stoke their ego, and sell a record.
It is during these moments when one must lean on grace, not on their understanding or knowledge. Grace isn't mercy. Grace is the power to live within the realm God assigned you. If you attempt to live someone else's ministry or influence someone's thoughts, you are stepping into the realm of control and manipulation.
The Holy Spirit is fully able to promote you when it is time. The Holy Spirit is fully able to humble when it is time. The Holy Spirit is fully able to lead you or end your life when it is time. If you don't understand God now, trust me, you will in the future.
