Christmas Incarnation

I am a Grinch during the Christmas season. This is partially due to the cold weather and the non-stop Christmas music that infects the radio broadcasts. However, the main reason for my loathing is the reminder of the incarnation.
Whenever I am reminded that Jesus came as a baby, in human form, I also remember He is no longer physically on the earth. Jesus came as a tiny baby and took his first steps on the same earth that I reside on presently. Whenever I ponder this mysterious and glorious event, I am filled with wonder- and sadness. I long for Jesus’ return and being reminded that He came in the past hurts at times.
During this season, I often whine to my Savior. “Jesus, all I want for Christmas is You. You came to Mary and Joseph in a manger. Can you come before my Critical Approaches to Literature final? Could you interrupt our lives like you interrupted the lives of the shepherds and wise men?
Jesus, your incarnation is a foundational beauty in my faith. You came as a helpless babe who was unable to speak. Would you now break the silence and take residence on your rightful home? Merry Christmas everyone and to everyone a New Earth.
