I received some money earlier this year, and I knew I wanted to spend it on a trip to Israel. My church is hosting a trip to Israel this coming September. I am not able to join that trip because the trip facilitator rejected my request due to my past illnesses. I accepted her explanation because it made sense at the time. However, now with everything transpiring in the Middle East, I can't get Israel out of my mine. I want Jerusalem. I want to be there. I desperately want to join the trip this September, but the door slammed shut.
I've decided to satiate my desire for this land by bathing it in prayers. I find, when I pray for Israel, some of my ache dissipates. Not completely, but enough to get me through another day.
I believe that Israel must be watched. I am a watchman on the wall, so bias news reports frustrate me. I want to be on the ground. I want to understand the situation as an actual witness, not through second hand reporting.
Please join me in prayer for this nation, God's nation. Israel belongs to Jesus. No one can slam the door on Him. He'll come to its rescue.
