Brethren, even if anyone is caught in any trespass, you who are spiritual, restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness; each one looking to yourself, so that you too will not be tempted. Galatians 6:1 NASB
I often wonder why the writer of this epistle used the term"brethren" to start this verse. am sure the writer was full of compassion and love. Wanting no one to perish, especially brethren. Brethren is an intimate family description. The writer was longing for restoration. He wasn't focusing on the brother's trespasses. He was focusing on restoration.
When you correct someone, is it based in your ego? Or are you desiring restoration? Check yourself before you correct someone. Make sure your motives are based in restoration and love. If not, you might lose the person you are trying to restore.
