This is a topic that might offend some readers. If you have strong opinions about homosexuality, please read this post with caution and discretion.
I am not extremely devoted to my opinion about allowing same-sex marriage in America. I would prefer an America that didn't allow same-sex marriage. I do; however, accept that we live in a society that upholds certain political parameters: democratic, republic, federation, and separation of church and state. Within such a government, I am willing to yield my own personal preferences to the masses. This doesn't make my convictions any less true. It only reveals that I understand that my government is not my God, my Savior, or my moral compass. If the government gives men and women the right to live in sin, I can still live with God in peace. The Holy Spirit can still rescue men from their sins. That change in law doesn't bind God.
I have heard many Christian attest that, if homosexual marriage becomes legal in all states, America will be doomed. I am sorry to break the news, but America is already doomed. America has an ending. Her doom has been certain since the beginning of her inception. The pride and moral compass of America has been flawed since her birth. America was founded on rebellion and a hostile take over. Her people rebelled against the mother nation and then robbed a land that wasn't their own. That alone should have doomed it. Some argue that our founders made America a "Christian nation". No current earthly nation is a Christian nation. The only nation that will ever be undefiled is the New Jerusalem, the HOLY city. America's ideals are far from God's theocratic system; those ideals are even at their roots immoral. The only salvation is found in redemption in Jesus. When America signs "salvation in Jesus alone" into law, we will be a moral nation. :)
Revelation 22:11 speaks about the end-times. It uses an interesting word: "let". It allows the evil doers to live as they please. Sometimes, homosexuals need to be given over to their sins. Sometimes the righteous can only sound the alarm for a time, then we must store away our righteousness. Sometimes wisdom has cried out. And sometimes she needs to silence herself because they would have none of her council. (Proverbs 1).
I am longing for a city whose builder and maker is God, and I regret to announce that city is not America.
Revelation 22:11-12
11 Let the evildoer still do evil, and the filthy still be filthy, and the righteous still do right, and the holy still be holy.”
12 “Behold, I am coming soon, bringing my recompense with me, to repay each one for what he has done.
