Worthy of Death

It is late. I don't have time to write at length. I just felt compelled to write tonight before I closed my eyes. I am in a play called We Will Not Be Silent. It is about The White Rose, a resistance group who lost their lives because they revolted against the Nazis.
It is somewhat surreal to me because I personally want to give my life in a similar fashion. These people inspire me, but at the same time I feel deeply disheartened. I live a mediocre life compared to these passionate writers.
Jesus you are worthy of my life and death. Not just words, not just fancy sounding faith, and not just a Christian slogan. The truth.
I want to know the emotions, the fears, the hopes, and the convictions that slice through a soul when it is about to meet its Maker. When one counts everything as loss. To take on His sufferings, the beautiful man Jesus.
I want to give my life for You, my worthy God. Prepare me and make me faithful. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to share in the lives of your servants. The White Rose martyrs: Hans, Sophie, Alex, Willi, and Christoph. Your sacrifice wasn't in vain.
